I'm an educator and videographer. I like hiking, movies and rock and roll. Some great (and I believe I am a sound judge of rock greatness) songs even have eco messages: Warren Zevon's Run Straight Down, The Eagles' The Last Resort, Lou Reed's The Last Great American Whale, The Kink's Livin' on a Thin Line. But there don't seem to be any contenders on the current MTV Top Twenty Countdown.

I also like to travel. Scandinavia, especially Denmark, has made a commitment to the environment. Copenhagen is the site of the new European Environment Agency. I'd like to spend next summer in Denmark---maybe teaching, doing environmental research, or videoproducing. Please feel free to e-mail any suggestions, ideas, help.

Here are some selections from my eco reading list: Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, The Ecology of Commerce by Paul Hawken (especially interesting if you are concerned about the relationship between business and the environment), The Value of Life by Steven Kellert, and Last Chance to See by Douglas Adams (author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), and Mark Carwardine.
